The agenda for the upcoming meeting has been posted here. The major item of interest is "Discussion and consider action on Resolution R-10-09, authorizing publication of Notice of Intention to Issue Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation". This is the financing of the Arboretum expansion project that I have discussed on this blog several times. The majority of the Council is in favor of financing this using the Hotel/Motel tax revenue and without putting it to a vote by the citizens. There are a few good reasons for this, which I have discussed at length before. And few, if any, citizens have expressed a contrary opinion even though the issue has been well-publicized (on this blog anyway!). But if you are interested, I suggest that you attend the April 11 meeting, express your opinion and watch the discussion.
